Abaqus Tutorial 19: Thermal - Stress Analysis

In this tutorial, you will create a coupled thermal-stress simulation of a bimetallic thermostat in which temperature field and displacement are solved together. Then, you will use a sequential approach to investigate the same process by obtaining the thermal and mechanical solutions separately.

When you complete this tutorial, you will be able to:

• Implement a coupled thermal-stress simulation.
• Define the thermo-mechanical properties of materials.
• Define thermal loads and boundary conditions.
• Import heat transfer analysis results as loading conditions for a pure mechanical analysis (sequential approach).
